Remo D'Souza and wife deny fraud allegations, promise full cooperation in ongoing investigation

After being accused of cheating a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore, Remo and Lizelle D'Souza address the allegations, urging the public to avoid rumours and affirming full cooperation with authorities

Days after a fraud case was filed against choreographer Remo D'Souza and his wife Lizelle D'Souza, the couple has spoken out, assuring full cooperation with the authorities. The case, registered on October 16 in Maharashtra's Thane district, alleges that the duo, along with five others, defrauded a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. In a joint statement shared via Instagram, Remo and Lizelle expressed their disappointment over the accusations and media coverage. "We request everyone to refrain from spreading rumors before verifying the facts," they stated, adding that they will present their case at the appropriate time.

The allegations stem from claims by a 26-year-old dancer who said his troupe was cheated between 2018 and July 2024. The group had performed and won on a television show, with the accused allegedly taking the prize money by posing as the owners of the troupe. The case also names Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a policeman, and Ramesh Gupta as co-accused. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
