Rashmika Mandanna set to resume work after recovering from hip injury
Rashmika Mandanna is preparing to return to work after spending several weeks recovering from a hip injury she sustained while filming a dance sequence for her upcoming movie “Mysaa”.
The actor shared an update on social media on Sunday, posting photographs and videos from her time at home and announcing that her enforced break was nearing its end. “I am getting back to work soon and I am definitely going to miss all of this,” she wrote.
Her post offered glimpses of the quieter routine she adopted during recovery, including performing puja, spending time with her pets and loved ones, watching films and working on puzzles. Mandanna had earlier reflected on how being forced to slow down had changed her perspective on a work schedule that normally keeps her constantly occupied.
Injury occurred during ‘Mysaa’ dance shoot
Mandanna revealed the extent of her injury earlier this month after reports emerged that she had been hurt on the set of “Mysaa”. She said one of the tendons connecting her right hip to her leg had detached while she was filming a dance sequence.
The 30-year-old described it as her third injury in succession and said the tendon needed time to heal before she could properly lift her leg again. She nevertheless reassured fans that while the injury was painful, it was not unbearable.
Reports at the time said doctors had advised her several weeks of rest and rehabilitation. More recent reports indicated that she was nearing recovery but would make a cautious return, initially avoiding strenuous action and other physically demanding sequences.
Mandanna had jokingly described the recovery period as a “forced holiday”, saying she had used the unexpected time away from sets to solve puzzles, rest and spend more time at home.
A different pace away from films
During her recovery, Mandanna also spoke about adjusting to a slower lifestyle after years of moving continuously between films, promotions and other professional commitments.
She said slowing down had previously seemed intimidating while she was busy working, but after being forced to rest, the idea of constantly “hustling” had begun to appear equally daunting. Her latest update suggests she is now ready to return to her professional commitments while acknowledging that she will miss the extended time at home.
Fans responded to Sunday’s announcement by welcoming her recovery and urging her not to rush back into physically demanding work.
Several projects ahead
Mandanna sustained the injury while working on “Mysaa”, an action drama directed by Rawindra Pulle. The film features her in a physically demanding role and has been described as one of the most intensive projects of her career.
She also has “Ranabaali” among her forthcoming projects, along with other films at different stages of development.
Her announcement does not specify the exact date on which she will return to a film set or which project she will resume first. However, after several weeks away from shooting, Mandanna’s latest update indicates that her recovery has progressed sufficiently for her to begin returning to work.
