Ramayana box office collection: Ranbir Kapoor’s film earns ₹174.94 crore in three days
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has collected ₹174.94 crore net in India in its first three days in theatres, with the film witnessing a recovery on Saturday after a decline in earnings on Friday. The mythological epic, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, earned ₹62.04 crore on its third day up to 9 pm, according to trade website Sacnilk.
The Saturday performance marked a significant improvement over Friday’s collections and put the film within reach of the ₹200 crore domestic net milestone, which it is expected to cross on Sunday. The first weekend will be crucial in determining whether the film can sustain its strong opening momentum through the Diwali period.
Ramayana box office collection on day 3
Ramayana opened in theatres on November 5, setting a new record for a pre-Diwali release in India. The film had generated substantial interest even before its release, with advance bookings opening on Dussehra, 15 days ahead of its theatrical debut. By the time it arrived in cinemas, advance ticket sales had reportedly reached ₹200 crore worldwide.
The film collected ₹64.85 crore net in India on its opening day, securing the fourth-highest opening in Bollywood history. However, its earnings dropped to ₹48.05 crore on Friday, November 6, a non-holiday and the day before the weekend.
The film recovered on Saturday, November 7, collecting ₹62.04 crore net by 9 pm. This took its three-day domestic net total to ₹174.94 crore, according to Sacnilk. The improvement came as audience occupancy picked up over the weekend. The Kannada version, which had started slowly despite Yash playing Ravana, also recorded an improvement in occupancy on Saturday.
How Ramayana compares with Adipurush
Ramayana is now looking to cross the ₹200 crore net mark in India by the end of its first weekend. For comparison, Prabhas-starrer Adipurush had earned more than ₹200 crore net in India during its first three days in theatres.
However, the release schedules of the two films were different. Adipurush's first three days comprised Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while Ramayana's opening stretch included Thursday and Friday, both working days, followed by Saturday.
Ramayana has already surpassed the opening-day collections of several major Bollywood releases, including Pathaan, which earned ₹57 crore, Animal with ₹63 crore, and Drishyam 2, which collected ₹62 crore.
