Nushrratt Bharuccha discharged after surgery, what we know about her recovery

Nushrratt Bharuccha is back home after a successful surgery, her spokesperson said on Thursday, days after the actor suffered a fracture in her spine following an accident in Indonesian capital Bali.

In a statement, the publicist said the actor is recuperating at her home and is focusing on healing and regaining her strength.

“After going through a difficult and challenging phase following her unfortunate accident, Nushrratt Bharuccha has successfully undergone spine surgery. We are relieved to share that the surgery went well, and she has now been discharged from the hospital.

"Nushrratt is finally back home, surrounded by care and comfort, as she begins the important journey towards recovery. While the road to complete recovery will take time, she remains positive and is focusing on healing and regaining her strength. We sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming love, concern, prayers and good wishes extended to her during this difficult time," the spokesperson said.

What happened to Nushrratt?

The actor met with the accident in Bali, where she was on a work-and-holiday trip, earlier this month and was brought back to Mumbai in an air ambulance.

Bharuccha made her acting debut with the 2006 film "Jai Santoshi Maa" but became popular after featuring in hits "Love Sex Aur Dhokha" (2010) and 2011's "Pyaar Ka Punchnama", co-starring Kartik Aaryan.

Her other credits include "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2", "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety", "Dream Girl", "Chhalaang", "Ajeeb Daastaans", "Chhorii", "Janhit Mein Jaari", "Ram Setu", "Selfiee", "Akelli" and "Chhorii 2".

Bharuccha will next feature in an upcoming action film starring Tiger Shroff and directed by Remo D'Souza, as well as "Gajab Raat", the Manoj Bajpayee-led crime thriller which will be released on Netflix on October 23.
