Mumbai police recover bike used in firing at Tiger Shroff’s car, detain two

Two detained as Mumbai Police trace bike used in firing at Tiger Shroff’s car

Mumbai Police have recovered the two-wheeler allegedly used by three assailants who fired five rounds in Vile Parle on Sunday evening, while two people have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident. The firing left actor Tiger Shroff’s driver and an autorickshaw driver injured.

According to sources, the motorcycle was found abandoned near Andheri railway station. Investigators traced it by examining CCTV footage from the area, which led them to a location near DN Nagar in Andheri West. The police have seized the vehicle as part of the investigation.

The three assailants were subsequently seen heading towards the railway station, where they allegedly boarded a train to escape. Police are now examining CCTV footage from the station using facial recognition software to identify and track them.

How the firing unfolded

The incident took place around 8 pm on Sunday when Shroff was leaving Pushpa Park after playing football. During the firing, his driver and an autorickshaw driver sustained gunshot injuries. Both were reported to be stable.

In an immediate response, Shroff exchanged seats with his driver and personally drove him to hospital for treatment.

Police have formed 15 teams to investigate the incident from multiple angles and identify those involved. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage to establish the movements of the suspects and trace their escape route.

According to reports, CCTV footage has yielded images of two suspected shooters, both reportedly wearing white shirts. Investigators are analysing the footage to establish their identities and movements before and after the firing. Police are also probing whether the assailants had conducted reconnaissance before the attack, as Shroff is said to visit the football venue regularly on Sundays.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang operatives claim responsibility

Shortly after the firing, two alleged operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu, claimed responsibility for the attack in posts circulated on various social media platforms.

In a post written in Hindi and accompanied by a voice message, the two allegedly issued a warning to Shroff, saying they had contacted him earlier but he had failed to understand their message.

“We had called and explained to him (Tiger Shroff), but he did not understand. So today, we explained to him rather well that whoever in the Mumbai film industry does not abide by what we say or work with Salman Khan is next in line. Wait and watch,” the post stated.

The police are investigating the alleged gang connection and verifying the claims made on social media. The identities of the assailants and their alleged links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have not yet been conclusively established.

The investigation is continuing, with officers examining CCTV footage, analysing the recovered motorcycle and questioning the two detained persons to establish the circumstances surrounding the firing and identify those involved.
