'Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon': Emraan Hashmi teases third chapter
The possibility of another chapter in the Awarapan franchise has got fans talking after Emraan Hashmi teased a potential third instalment during a special screening of Awarapan 2 in Mumbai.
Emraan, who reprises his role as Shivam Pandit in the sequel, attended the screening alongside Disha Patani. The actors interacted with the audience and spoke about the film's reception during the interval.
While addressing fans, Emraan said the franchise had always belonged to its audience. He also spoke about how the sequel expanded the story with greater action and emotion.
“This is a film which belongs to fans more than the makers isiliye hum wapis aaye abhi, is journey ko humne aur thrilling banaya with more action and more emotions. Friday ko bas humare haath se nikal gayi aur aapke hawale (This is a film that belongs to the fans more than the makers, which is why we have returned. We have made this journey even more thrilling with more action and more emotions. On Friday, the film will be out of our hands and in yours),” he said.
Emraan Hashmi hints at Awarapan 3
The actor further fuelled speculation when a fan predicted that Awarapan 2 would become a superhit. Emraan responded, “Movie baaki hai, second half better hai (The movie is not over yet; the second half is better),” suggesting that audiences still had more of the story to experience.
He then dropped the biggest hint about a possible third film, saying, “Hopefully, Awarapan 3 very soon”.
The remark immediately raised questions about whether Shivam Pandit's journey could continue beyond the sequel. However, no official announcement about Awarapan 3 has been made.
What is Awarapan 2 about?
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, Awarapan 2 brings Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit, the character he first played in the 2007 film.
The sequel follows Shivam as he becomes involved in a dangerous mission to rescue abducted children. The story explores human trafficking, revenge and redemption.
Disha Patani plays Zara, while Shabana Azmi features as Nafisa. Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Puran Gabbi are also part of the cast.
According to Sacnilk, the film has earned over Rs 72.90 crore worldwide in its first two days.
Why Awarapan remains special to fans
The original Awarapan did not make a major impact at the box office when it released in 2007. Over time, however, the film developed a dedicated following, with its music, emotional storyline and Emraan's performance contributing to its cult status.
Now, Emraan's latest comment has left fans wondering whether the franchise could soon return for a third chapter.
