'Drishyam The Conclusion' announced: Ajay Devgn's final Vijay Salgaonkar chapter arrives October 2
Ajay Devgn is returning as Vijay Salgaonkar for the third and final instalment of the Hindi 'Drishyam' franchise. Titled 'Drishyam The Conclusion', the film has been announced for release on October 2 this year, a date that carries particular significance in Vijay's story.
The announcement was made by Devgn on social media on Monday, along with the first poster of the film. October 2 is the date on which the Salgaonkar family created its false alibi in the first film, making the release date a deliberate callback to one of the franchise's most important plot points.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Devgn wrote, “Har insaan ka nazariya alag hota hai… mere liye meri family hi sab kuch hai. #DrishyamTheConclusion in cinemas 2nd October.”
The poster carries the line, “Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai” (My truth, my right, only my family hai).
The first-look teaser, released around eight months ago, had already offered a glimpse of what lies ahead. In the teaser, Vijay reflected on how he had been viewed differently by different people and reiterated that his family remained his priority.
“The world calls me by many names – criminal, murderer, deceitful, cunning, fraud, hero, innocent, father, and mastermind. But it doesn’t matter to me. Because I understood one thing from whatever happened, whatever I did, saw, or showed in the past seven years: In this world, every person’s truth is different, as are their rights. My truth and right are my family. As long as things don’t stop, as long as others don’t fail, I will stand here, like a gatekeeper and a wall.”
Tabu, Shriya Saran return
'Drishyam The Conclusion' is produced by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios, with Abhishek Pathak returning as director. He has co-written the film with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.
Devgn will be joined by Tabu, returning as IG Meera Deshmukh, and Shriya Saran as Nandini. Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat have also joined the cast.
The Hindi franchise began in 2015 with a remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam film 'Drishyam'. The film was a major success, followed by 'Drishyam 2' in 2022, which also performed strongly at the box office.
Mohanlal's Drishyam universe continues
Meanwhile, the Malayalam franchise is also moving ahead. Producer Antony Perumbavoor recently announced the development of 'Drishyam 4' after the release of the third film.
Director Jeethu Joseph had earlier said the team repeatedly encouraged him to continue the story.
“They said to keep thinking about the story; after the first, keep thinking about the second. Then, while shooting part two, he said let’s start three. Now he’s saying, ‘I think you should work on the fourth one’,” he said.
