'I will have poha first': Diljit Dosanjh has assured fans of his Indore concert amid security concerns and controversy over his setlist

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has made it clear that bomb threats and mounting controversies will not stop him from performing in Indore on November 15. The singer, who is bringing his AURA India Tour 2026 to the city, has assured fans that he will keep his commitment and even make time for Indore's famous poha.

Responding to concerns surrounding the concert, Diljit said he was determined to meet his fans despite reports of a possible security threat.

"I will visit Indore on 15th of November. I will have poha first after visiting Indore. Anyone can say anything, but I will meet you in Indore on 15th November. I have heard in the news that there will be some 'sankat'. But we know how to handle this. Do they know who are we?" he said.

His comments come after bomb threat emails and restrictions on some of his songs raised questions about the November 15 event.

Bomb threats and restrictions on songs

Earlier this week, three private schools and the office of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava received emails warning of a possible bomb blast during the concert. The messages also cautioned schools against sending students to the event.

Bomb disposal squads searched the three schools but found no explosives. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya said preliminary investigations suggested that the emails could be hoaxes. The crime branch is examining technical evidence to identify those responsible.

The concert also faced restrictions after the District Child Protection Officer directed C-21 Mall management on November 6 to ensure that Diljit did not perform four songs—'Patiala Pegg', '5 Taara Theeke', 'Jeeb Vicho Labbiya' and 'Jatt Uthe Fire Karda Jithe Pabandi Hathiyara Di'.

The directive followed a complaint by Chandigarh-based professor Dr Panditrao Dharennavar over lyrics allegedly promoting alcohol, drugs and firearms. The communication cited a 2019 Punjab and Haryana High Court order concerning songs glorifying intoxicants and violence.

Indore show follows hurdles in other cities

Diljit's recent Delhi concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30 also faced uncertainty after police initially withheld permission over security and law-and-order concerns. The show eventually went ahead after organisers submitted a revised security plan.

The singer also recently said his planned Bihar performance could not take place following disagreements over crowd management responsibilities.

As part of the ongoing AURA India Tour, Diljit is scheduled to perform in Indore on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29, Lucknow on December 5, Chandigarh on December 12 and Kolkata on December 19.
