Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcome second baby girl, announce birth with a footprint post

Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have welcomed their second child, a baby girl. The couple announced the arrival of their daughter on Saturday through a simple Instagram post featuring a tiny footprint and the words, “Welcome Baby Girl”.

The announcement card carries the date 19.9.2026 and is signed by “Dua, Deepika & Ranveer”, confirming that the couple’s elder daughter, Dua, is now a big sister.

A simple announcement on Instagram

Rather than sharing a photograph of the newborn or a lengthy message, Deepika and Ranveer chose a minimalist announcement. The post features a monochrome footprint against a white background, with the birth date and the family’s names below it.

The announcement was met with congratulatory messages from several members of the film industry, including actors and singers who took to the comments section to wish the family well.

The couple have generally maintained a private approach towards their children. Their first daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, was born on September 8, 2024, and they have largely kept her away from the public eye.

Dua becomes a big sister

The arrival of the baby girl comes nearly two years after the birth of Dua. Deepika and Ranveer had announced their second pregnancy on April 19, 2026, in a joint social media post that featured Dua holding a positive pregnancy test.

The announcement came after months of speculation about Deepika's pregnancy. The couple's post also marked Dua's introduction into the family's pregnancy announcement, with the toddler set to become an elder sister.

Earlier this month, on Dua's second birthday, Ranveer shared previously unseen monochrome photographs from the couple's maternity shoot. The pictures featured Deepika, Ranveer and Dua together, with the actor writing that “Baby Dua and our hearts are getting bigger” and thanking fans for their blessings.

From co-stars to a family of four

Deepika and Ranveer first worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013 and subsequently appeared together in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. The couple married on November 14, 2018, in ceremonies held at Lake Como in Italy.

Their first child, Dua, arrived in September 2024. With the birth of their second daughter, the actors have now become parents to two children.

On the professional front, Deepika is set to appear in King, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, and is also associated with Atlee's Raaka, starring Allu Arjun. Ranveer, meanwhile, has Pralay in the pipeline.

The couple's latest announcement marks another milestone in their journey as parents, with Dua now beginning a new chapter as the elder sister in a family of four.
