'Avengers: Endgame Encore': New ending, 'Doomsday' footage and India release details

Marvel Studios has brought ‘Avengers: Endgame’ back to cinemas seven years after its original release, giving fans another opportunity to watch the MCU blockbuster on the big screen.

Titled ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’, the re-release arrived in India on September 25. However, this version is not simply a repeat of the 2019 film. Marvel has added new footage, including material that connects the conclusion of the Infinity Saga with the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

Why has Marvel re-released ‘Endgame’?

‘Avengers: Endgame’ brought the Infinity Saga to a major conclusion and marked a turning point for several of the MCU's original heroes. The 2019 film also became one of the biggest theatrical releases in cinema history.

With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ scheduled to release on December 18, 2026, Marvel is returning to the events of ‘Endgame’ before introducing audiences to its next major Avengers chapter.

The Encore release therefore serves two purposes — allowing fans to revisit a landmark MCU film while adding material that sets up what comes next.

What is different in ‘Endgame Encore’?

The re-release includes additional footage and a new ending that leads towards ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. According to the report, the added material runs for nearly two minutes.

The Russo Brothers, who directed ‘Avengers: Endgame’, have also described the re-release as “required viewing" ahead of the next film.

Joe Russo further explained the connection between the two projects in an interview with Fandango, saying, “There’s a natural progression from ‘Endgame’ into ‘Doomsday’ which is also inclusive of all the other stories that have been playing out."

There is also something extra for audiences watching the film in select premium formats. Viewers in IMAX and Infinity Vision will get exclusive footage from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, offering an early look at the upcoming Marvel film.

Where can fans watch it in India?

‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ is being screened across India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The film is also playing in premium formats, including IMAX and Infinity Vision, giving MCU fans multiple ways to revisit the blockbuster while getting a glimpse of Marvel's next Avengers story.
