Arjun Rampal marries longtime partner Gabriella Demetriades in Goa

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and his longtime partner Gabriella Demetriades have married after being together for several years, registering their marriage in Goa on Friday. The couple completed the legal formalities at the Sub-Registrar’s Office in Mapusa, North Goa, in the presence of close friends, bringing a new chapter to a relationship that began in 2018.

Rampal and Demetriades arrived at the office around 4 p.m. and opted for casual attire rather than a traditional wedding ceremony, according to reports. The marriage was registered under Goa’s Uniform Civil Code. The couple had also received special permission from the Assistant Public Prosecutor of the local court concerning the 15-day waiting period between the required signatures.

Eight years together

Rampal and Demetriades have been together since 2018 and are parents to two sons. Their first son, Arik, was born in 2019, while their second son, Ariv, arrived in 2023. Over the years, the couple have frequently appeared together publicly and shared glimpses of their family life, although they had chosen not to marry until now.

Their engagement became public in 2025 when Rampal confirmed it during an appearance with Demetriades on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast. At the time, their exchange about marriage drew attention because the couple had already spent several years together and started a family. Friday’s registration has now formally sealed the relationship.

From friendship to family

Rampal and Demetriades reportedly met through mutual friends in 2018 after having crossed paths at social gatherings. Their friendship gradually developed into a relationship, which became public around the time they announced that they were expecting their first child.

Demetriades, who is from South Africa, has worked as a model and fashion designer. While Rampal has remained in the public eye through his film career, the couple have largely kept their relationship away from elaborate public displays, making their understated marriage registration in Goa consistent with the way they have approached their personal life.

Rampal’s second marriage

This is Rampal’s second marriage. He was previously married to former model Mehr Jesia. The two married in 1998 and announced their separation in 2018 after two decades together. Their divorce was finalised in 2019. Rampal and Jesia have two daughters, Mahikaa and Myra.

Rampal’s relationship with Demetriades developed around the period of his separation from Jesia. Over the following years, the actor and Demetriades built a family together while remaining unmarried, with Rampal later publicly confirming their engagement.

A quiet Goa wedding

Unlike the elaborate destination weddings often associated with Bollywood celebrities, Rampal and Demetriades appear to have chosen a low-key route. The legal formalities were completed before close friends rather than through a large public ceremony, and the couple had not shared official wedding photographs on social media immediately after the registration was reported.

The marriage comes after eight years of companionship and two children together. For Rampal and Demetriades, Friday’s proceedings in Goa were less the beginning of a relationship than the formalisation of a family life they had already built over several years.
