Akriti Agarwal announces split from cricketer fiancé Prithvi Shaw

Akriti Agarwal has announced her separation from cricketer fiancé Prithvi Shaw, saying the two have decided to go their separate ways as their “paths are not meant to be together”. Agarwal shared the news through a statement on social media, bringing an end to their engagement and requesting privacy as they move forward separately.

‘Different directions’

In her statement, Agarwal said some relationships enter people’s lives to teach them lessons rather than remain forever. She said that after considerable thought and understanding, she and Shaw had mutually decided to part ways and move forward in different directions.

Agarwal indicated that there was no bitterness behind the decision and emphasised the respect they continued to have for each other. She also asked people to respect their privacy during what she described as a personal transition.
