Ajay Devgn's 'Golmaal 5' to release in January 2027, Akshay Kumar joins franchise

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty's film "Golmaal 5", featuring Ajay Devgn, is set to release on January 8, 2027.

Shetty shared the news with a post on his Instagram handle on Saturday, which featured the film's poster. "LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY... BAS, NOTHING ELSE, 8TH JAN 2027," read the caption.

Devgn also posted the poster on his handle as he shared the announcement. "Puraani aadat hai….Golmaal karne ki. See you on 8th Jan 2027," he wrote.

Besides Devgn, the film also features Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sharman Joshi, alongside Akshay Kumar, who is the latest addition to the franchise.

The film is the fifth installment in the comedy franchise, which started in 2006 with “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited”. Later, in 2008, a sequel was made, “Golmaal Returns”, followed by “Golmaal 3” in 2010 and “Golmaal Again” in 2017.

The films revolve around chaotic situational comedy, loud gags, colourful settings, and ensemble fights, with each installment having a different storyline.

The film is produced by Shetty under his production banner, Rohit Shetty Picturez, in association with Reliance Entertainment.

Devgn will also feature in "Drishyam 3", which will release on October 2. The film is the third and final release in the franchise. Devgn will appear alongside Tabu and Shriya Saran, who are returning to reprise their roles in the film.
