Ajay Devgn's 'Drishyam 3' crosses Rs 10 crore in advance bookings

Ajay Devgn’s ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ is already generating strong interest at the ticket counters, with the film crossing Rs 10 crore in gross advance bookings just days before its theatrical release.

The third instalment of the ‘Drishyam’ franchise is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 2. With the earlier films enjoying a strong run, expectations around the latest chapter have been high. Early ticket sales have now added to the anticipation around its opening.

‘Drishyam 3’ sees strong advance sales

Advance booking for ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ began on September 27, five days before its release. The film has maintained a steady pace since then, with around 1.6 lakh tickets sold for the opening day and more than a lakh tickets added for Saturday.

Across India, the film has sold more than four lakh tickets for its opening weekend within the first 48 hours of bookings.

Trade estimates put its gross advance collection at more than Rs 10 crore by Tuesday morning, September 29. The opening day alone has contributed around Rs 6.65 crore in gross advance sales.

The figure has already moved past the final advance booking collection of ‘Drishyam 2’, which earned Rs 5.09 crore before its release.

Opening day expectations rise

The early booking numbers have also changed expectations around the film’s opening. ‘Drishyam 2’ had opened with Rs 15 crore net in 2022, while initial estimates for the third instalment had placed its opening in the Rs 25-30 crore range.

With advance sales moving at a faster pace, trade estimates have since climbed. Some projections have suggested that the film could challenge the opening-day figures of major Hindi releases such as ‘War’ and ‘Pathaan’, potentially crossing the Rs 45 crore mark.

These figures remain estimates, with the actual opening depending on ticket sales and occupancy when the film releases.

Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar

Officially titled ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’, the film brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant also reprise their roles.

Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Saurabh Shukla are among the new additions to the cast.

Written and directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film presents a fresh story that moves away from the Malayalam franchise’s third instalment. ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ will release in theatres on October 2, 2026.
