The firing took place near Pushpa Park when Shroff was returning home after playing a football match. According to preliminary reports, three rounds were fired at the actor's BMW while people had gathered in the area to catch a glimpse of him.

Mumbai Police have constituted 12 teams to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and attempting to reconstruct the sequence of events.

A social media post attributed to gangsters Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, police have not authenticated the post or established any connection between the gang and the incident.

The motive behind the firing remains unclear, and investigators have yet to officially identify the attackers.

Sawant criticised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the Home portfolio, and referred to previous attacks and threats involving prominent personalities from the Hindi film industry.

Meanwhile, Shroff's family representatives confirmed that the actor was safe. Police said further investigation was underway and efforts were continuing to establish the identity of the attackers and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
