'A bad angle': Kareena Kapoor pregnancy rumours dismissed by sister-in-law Saba Pataudi

After a video sparked pregnancy speculation, Saba Pataudi urged people to respect Kareena Kapoor’s privacy and avoid assumptions

Kareena Kapoor’s recent appearance in Mumbai sparked pregnancy rumours online, but the speculation has now been dismissed. The actor’s sister-in-law, Saba Pataudi, also criticised the assumptions made about Kareena based on her appearance in a video.

A source also confirmed that the pregnancy reports were false.

Saba Pataudi calls out speculation

Saba addressed the rumours through an Instagram story on Saturday, pointing out that an unusual photograph or video angle should not lead to assumptions about someone’s personal life.

Her Instagram story read: “A bad angle…Or a bad hair day! How can everyone assume another extreme!! She walked out of an airport looking slick, classy and slim. And today out of a gym! That’s it!! (sic)”

Saba also brought her own family into the conversation while joking about her younger sister Soha Ali Khan. Soha and actor Kunal Kemmu have an eight-year-old daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu.

“I’ve been convincing my sister to have a 2nd child…wish that was true! She’ll kill me for saying it! (sic),” Saba wrote.

She ended the message by asking people to respect privacy and avoid making assumptions about matters that are personal.

“Live and let live guys. Some things are left private. No speculation needed. With love n respect (sic)”

Pregnancy rumours dismissed

The speculation began after a clip of Kareena from her Mumbai outing went viral on Friday. A source subsequently confirmed that the actor was not pregnant.

“She is not pregnant. The rumours are false,” the source said, per a report by The Indian Express.

Kareena is married to actor Saif Ali Khan. The couple, who tied the knot on October 16, 2012, have two sons, Taimur, 9, and Jeh, 5.

Kareena had faced scrutiny after Taimur’s birth

Kareena and Saif previously faced intense public scrutiny after the birth of their elder son, particularly over his name.

Speaking at The Indian Express’ Adda in 2023, Kareena described the period following Taimur’s birth as “traumatic”.

“It was very difficult, but I think both Saif and me handled it with a lot of dignity because we never actually spoke, or said anything. We just believed in what we did and we just believed in naming our child just a beautiful name.”

She had also explained that the name Taimur was chosen because it was the name of Saif’s childhood friend.
