UP RERA clears 13 projects worth Rs 2,380 crore across six districts, 4,724 units planned
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 13 real estate projects involving an estimated investment of Rs 2,380.04 crore across six districts, paving the way for the development of 4,724 residential and commercial units in the state.
The projects have been approved in Barabanki, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Agra. The clearances were granted during UP RERA’s 212th and 213th meetings at its headquarters under the chairmanship of Sanjay Bhoosreddy.
Barabanki tops investment chart
Barabanki, adjoining Lucknow, accounted for the highest proposed investment among the six districts, with two residential projects worth Rs 751.42 crore. Together, the projects will add 591 residential units. Varanasi was close behind in investment terms, with three residential projects worth an estimated Rs 750.24 crore. These projects will together comprise 1,189 units.
Lucknow, meanwhile, emerged as the leader in terms of the number of units. A single residential project approved in the state capital involves an investment of Rs 385.76 crore and proposes the construction of 1,392 units. In Ghaziabad, the regulator cleared three projects — two commercial and one residential — involving an estimated investment of Rs 286.27 crore. The projects are expected to create 864 units.
Projects cleared in Noida, Agra
Gautam Buddh Nagar, which includes Noida, received approvals for one residential and one commercial project. The two developments involve an estimated investment of about Rs 186 crore and will have 564 units. Agra accounted for the smallest share of the latest approvals, with two residential projects involving an estimated investment of Rs 20.35 crore. The projects will together provide 124 units. UP RERA said the developments would expand residential and commercial facilities while generating additional construction activity across the six districts.
Construction activity, jobs set to get boost
The regulator said the Rs 2,380.04-crore proposed investment was expected to generate activity beyond the real estate sector, benefiting construction materials, transportation, engineering and other allied industries. The projects are also expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities and contribute to economic activity at the local level. “The development of registered projects within the prescribed rules and timelines, through transparent processes, is a priority of the authority,” UP RERA said.
The regulator attributed the expansion of real estate activity partly to the Uttar Pradesh government’s investment-friendly policies and simplified procedures aimed at encouraging housing, urban development and investment. UP RERA said ensuring timely and transparent development of registered projects, while protecting homebuyers, would remain central to its regulatory approach. It added that continuously strengthening buyers’ confidence in the real estate sector remained one of its key priorities.
