'Practically nothing left to target': Trump says war with Iran will end soon

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that the war with Iran will end “soon,” claiming there is little left to target and emphasising that the decision to end the conflict rests solely with him. “Little this and that… Any time I want it to end, it will end,” Axios quoted Trump as saying in a brief phone interview. “The war is going great. We are way ahead of the timetable. We have done more damage than we thought possible, even in the original six-week period,” he added, highlighting what he described as significant progress in military operations.

Even as President Trump has publicly suggested that US operations have largely achieved their objectives, US and Israeli officials say there has been no formal directive on when the fighting might end. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Wednesday said that the war will continue “without any time limit.” “This operation will proceed without any time limit, until we reach all the goals and decisively win the campaign,” CNN quoted Israel Defence Minister Israel Katz as saying during a meeting at Israel Defense Forces (IDF) headquarters in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning.
