'No solution on battlefield': PM calls for dialogue, diplomacy at SCO Summit amid Iran, Ukraine wars

Speaking in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, PM Modi said wars cannot be resolved on the battlefield and called for a united fight against terrorism

There is no solution on the battlefield, and all wars and conflicts must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday.

The SCO summit is being held amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has disrupted global energy supply lines and affected economies around the world.

Speaking in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Modi also called for a united global response to terrorism.

"We must speak with one voice that there can be no place for double standards on terrorism," he said.
