Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, said Tehran has “not had any direct negotiations with the US so far.” As the US-Israel Iran war rages on the 31st day, Baqaei said proposals conveyed to Iran have mostly been unrealistic, unreasonable and excessive. Further, he said linking the Ukraine conflict to the US and Israeli war against Iran is a ‘catastrophic miscalculation’.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he wants to “take the oil in Iran” in an interview with the Financial Times, even as Pakistan said it is preparing to host talks aimed at easing tensions and Kuwait reported that an Indian worker was killed in an Iranian strike. The developments come amid continued military exchanges and diplomatic efforts across the region.
