Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday urged BJP workers to strengthen the party organisation at the booth level and cautioned against attempts to divide society on caste, regional and linguistic lines.

Addressing a BJP western Uttar Pradesh Shakti Kendra convenors' conference at Subharti University here, Adityanath asked workers to review every booth, map families and assign responsibilities to 'panna pramukhs'.
The event was attended by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and state president Pankaj Chaudhary.

Adityanath said attempts would again be made to divide society and even appropriate national figures along caste lines, asserting that "great personalities belong to the entire nation and not to any particular caste".
"BJP workers should strengthen the party organisation at the booth level and remain aware of the attempts to divide society on caste, regional and linguistic lines," he said.
He cited freedom fighters and national figures, including Kotwal Dhan Singh Gurjar, Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Guru Gobind Singh, and said they should not be confined to any particular community.

Targeting the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress, the chief minister alleged that these parties promote "pariwarwaad" (nepotism) and "jatiwaad" (casteism).
Adityanath also highlighted what he described as the transformation of Uttar Pradesh since 2017, saying the state was earlier identified with "one district, one mafia", while it now promotes "one district, one medical college" and "one district, one product".
