A woman has alleged that jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 25,000 in cash were stolen from her First AC coach aboard train number 15726 at Lucknow railway station, raising concerns over passenger safety and security arrangements on trains.
In a video shared on social media, the woman was seen breaking down in tears as she recounted the alleged theft. She claimed that an unidentified person had entered her cabin unnoticed and stolen the valuables while she was travelling.
Woman alleges repeated attempts to seek help
The passenger alleged that she repeatedly tried to seek assistance from railway security personnel but received no response. According to her, she also pulled the emergency chain four times in an attempt to alert the authorities and get help.
Despite her repeated attempts to raise the alarm, she claimed that no police personnel came forward to respond to her distress.
Passenger raises concerns over safety
Expressing anguish over the incident, the woman questioned the safety arrangements for passengers, particularly those travelling in First AC compartments, where access is generally restricted. She also voiced concern over the apparent lack of timely assistance when passengers face emergencies.
The woman said she was relieved that her child was unharmed during the incident, even as she remained distressed over the loss of jewellery and cash.
The allegations have raised questions about security and the response mechanism available to passengers aboard trains. Further details about the incident, including whether a formal complaint has been registered and whether railway authorities have initiated an investigation, were not available.
