Bulandshahr bus accident: 7-year-old girl among 2 killed, around 20 injured

A Delhi-Kanpur Roadways bus collided with a dumper near Baghrai Cut in Bulandshahr, leaving two passengers dead and around 20 others injured

Two passengers, including a seven-year-old girl, were killed and around 20 others injured after a Roadways bus carrying more than 70 passengers crashed into a dumper on National Highway 34 (NH-34) near Baghrai Cut in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district on Friday morning, police said.

Bus crashes into dumper on NH-34

The bus was travelling from Delhi to Kanpur when it allegedly rammed into the rear of a dumper that was negotiating a turn.

According to preliminary information, the bus, travelling to Kanpur via the Kaushambi depot, had left Delhi at 11.30 pm. It reached the Baghrai Cut area in the morning before crashing into the dumper ahead.

The impact severely damaged the front portion of the bus.

Rescue teams rush to accident spot

Following the collision, passers-by alerted police and emergency services. Police personnel and ambulance teams reached the location and began rescue operations.

Additional district magistrate Abhishek Singh and superintendent of police (rural) Antariksh Jain, along with other senior administrative and police officials, visited the accident site and reviewed the relief and rescue efforts.

The injured passengers were taken to Jatia Government Hospital, MD Hospital and Kailash Hospital for treatment.

Seven-year-old girl, woman among those killed

Doctors at Kailash Hospital declared the seven-year-old girl dead on arrival.

A 35-year-old woman, identified as Babli, also died while undergoing treatment.

Around 20 injured passengers, including relatives and family members of the deceased, are being treated at different hospitals.

The bus had been carrying more than 70 passengers when the crash occurred.

Police begin investigation

Police have started investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.

The damaged bus and dumper were later removed from the highway to restore traffic movement on the stretch.

Authorities are continuing to gather details about the collision as the investigation progresses.
