Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Udhayanidhi Stalin on Saturday targeted the ruling TVK over its unfulfilled poll promises and law and order issue, alleging that the TVK legislators prioritised eulogising Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay rather than addressing serious governance issues.
TVK accused of questionable membership drives
He alleged that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam acquired members from other political parties through questionable means, comparing the process to "delivering" sofa like a food delivery app.
Garnering votes for party candidate Suganya in Dharapuram, which is facing by-poll on October 6, the former Deputy Chief Minister listed several unfulfilled election promises of the TVK, including financial aid for women, free cooking gas cylinders, unemployment assistance, and full agricultural loan waivers for farmers.
Udhayanidhi raises law and order concerns
He expressed deep dissatisfaction with the state’s law and order, citing high crime rates and the lack of safety for women, mentioning specific incidents that occurred during the government's tenure.
Appeal to voters in Dharapuram
He claimed that the ruling party members especially the ministers and legislators prioritised praising party founder and CM Vijay rather than address serious governance issues.
Udhayanidhi appealed to the voters to support the DMK candidate, Suganya, in the upcoming election to this SC reserved constituency.
