Punjab will organise special camps at all polling booths on Saturday to help voters verify their details in electoral rolls, seek corrections and apply for fresh enrolment, chief electoral officer Anindita Mitra said on Friday.
The camps will be held from 3pm to 5pm on the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Electors can use the opportunity to check their names in the final electoral roll published on October 12 under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026, and request corrections to their electoral particulars.
Applications open for new voter enrolment
Mitra said the qualifying date for the upcoming Special Summary Revision (SSR) would be January 1, 2027. Citizens who turn 18 on or before that date will be eligible to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll by submitting Form 6.
She urged voters to take advantage of the special camps and appealed to eligible young citizens to enrol at their respective polling booths.
Punjab SSR schedule
Under the announced schedule, the draft electoral roll will be published on November 12. The period for filing claims and objections will run from November 12 to December 11, while the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on January 4, 2027.
Voters can use Saturday's camps to verify their existing details and seek necessary corrections ahead of the revision process.
