The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday claimed that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was detained for three hours at Delhi airport upon his return from Paris and fined Rs 50,000, alleging that officials cited "tremendous pressure from above".
The party, however, did not disclose the reason for the alleged detention or the penalty imposed on the Chief Minister.

Punjab AAP media in-charge Baltej Pannu linked the incident to what he described as the Centre's repeated attempts to obstruct the functioning and development of the AAP-governed state.
Pannu alleged that the Union government had repeatedly denied permission for Mann's foreign visits, withheld funds due to Punjab and mishandled issues concerning farmers' protests.
He accused the Centre of creating obstacles in Punjab's progress and suggested that the airport incident was part of a broader pattern of pressure on the state government.

The AAP did not specify which authority allegedly detained Mann or imposed the Rs 50,000 fine. It also did not provide details of any violation that might have prompted the reported action.
The allegations regarding the detention, penalty and purported pressure from higher authorities remain unverified.
