Sachin Kurmi, a leader of the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was tragically stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in south Mumbai, police confirmed on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the MHADA colony area of Byculla late Friday night, where the 43-year-old Kurmi was attacked with sharp weapons. He was quickly transported to JJ Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Authorities reported that two to three individuals were involved in the attack. The police are currently examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the perpetrators. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) Act, and investigative teams have been assembled to further the investigation.
