Four killed as speeding car hits tree in MP's Sheopur district

Sheopur (MP): Four persons were killed when their speeding car hit a tree after avoiding a cow on the road in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district in the wee hours of Monday, police said. The accident occurred around 1 am near Kalitalai village when the victims were on their way to Kotputli in neighbouring Rajasthan from Gwalior, an official said. The car driver lost control of the wheels when a cow suddenly came in the way, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and hit a tree, Sheopur rural police station in-charge Shashi Tomar said. He said two of the occupants died on the spot, while two more succumbed to their injuries in a hospital. The deceased, Brijendra Jat (33), Hariram Yadav (60), Mukesh Yadav (28) and Hawa Singh Gurjar (25), were residents of Kotputli district in Rajasthan, he said. The police have informed family members of the deceased persons and sent the bodies for autopsy, the official said, adding further probe is underway.
