A kindergarten student with special needs was critically injured after a Class 3 student allegedly attacked her with stones and a flowerpot inside Sanskriti Model School in Sector 20, Panchkula.
According to reports, the accused student allegedly hit the younger girl repeatedly with stones before using a flowerpot to inflict further injuries. The assault reportedly continued even after the victim lost consciousness. The accused student also allegedly dragged the injured girl for some distance following the attack.
The incident has raised concerns over the safety of young children inside school premises and the supervision arrangements in place during school hours.
Girl rushed to hospital in critical condition
Following the assault, the injured girl was taken to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, for immediate medical attention. However, given the severity of her injuries, doctors referred her to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh for further treatment.
Her condition was reported to be critical.

Police question school staff, accused student's parents
After receiving information about the incident, Sector 20 police station SHO Yashdeep and Investigating Officer Pradeep Kumar reached the school with a police team.

Investigators are also questioning the parents of the student accused of carrying out the attack to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
