Haryana secured investment proposals worth approximately Rs 12,000 crore on the first day of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's two-day visit to Gujarat, with agreements signed across several industrial sectors, including defence textiles, technical textiles, machinery and renewable energy, an official statement said on Tuesday.
Leading a high-level delegation, Saini held one-on-one meetings with founders, managing directors and chief executive officers of several companies to discuss expanding existing operations, establishing new manufacturing facilities and exploring investment opportunities in Haryana.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh accompanied the Chief Minister during the meetings.
Major investments across key sectors
According to the statement, the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the visit included proposed investments of Rs 5,000 crore in defence textiles, Rs 2,000 crore in technical textiles and Rs 500 crore in industrial machinery.
The agreements also covered Rs 400 crore in solar energy and cosmetics manufacturing and Rs 4,000 crore in the waste-to-energy sector.
The proposed investments are expected to expand Haryana's industrial base, encourage ancillary industries and create opportunities for new business partnerships.
Saini said attracting investment and generating employment opportunities for young people remained among the state government's principal priorities.
He assured investors and entrepreneurs of comprehensive government support for establishing and expanding industrial operations in Haryana.
Focus on ease of doing business
The Chief Minister said Haryana was making sustained efforts to improve the ease of doing business and create a favourable environment for domestic and international investment.
He highlighted the government's focus on a progressive industrial policy framework, improved connectivity, robust infrastructure and access to essential services through a single-window mechanism.
Saini said particular attention was being given to simplifying regulatory procedures, ensuring time-bound approvals and strengthening coordination among government departments.
He maintained that these measures would help facilitate industrial expansion and encourage companies to establish new manufacturing units in the state.
Investors invited to global summit
During his interactions with industry representatives, Saini invited entrepreneurs and investors to participate in the 'Happening Haryana Global Summit', scheduled to take place in April 2027.
Describing the agreements signed in Gujarat as an important step towards strengthening Haryana's industrial capabilities, he said the proposed projects could generate employment, stimulate local economic activity and support long-term growth.
The Chief Minister also emphasised the potential for developing ancillary industries and strengthening supply chains around new industrial projects.
Saini meets Haryana entrepreneurs in Surat
As part of his Gujarat visit, Saini attended a Pravasi Milan Samaroh in Surat on Tuesday, where he interacted with entrepreneurs originally from Haryana and representatives of Gujarat's industrial community.
He praised Haryana-origin entrepreneurs who had established successful businesses in Gujarat, saying their achievements reflected hard work, enterprise and a commitment to economic development.
The Chief Minister said these entrepreneurs had contributed to strengthening commercial and industrial ties between Haryana and Gujarat.
He observed that the relationship between the two states extended beyond business and was rooted in shared cultural values, an industrious spirit and a commitment to national development.
Scope for cooperation in manufacturing
Saini identified auto components, machinery, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics and logistics as sectors offering significant opportunities for cooperation between businesses in Haryana and Gujarat.
He encouraged Gujarat-based companies to explore expansion into Haryana through new production facilities, warehouses and technical centres.
Such investments, he said, could benefit both states by strengthening industrial partnerships and creating additional economic opportunities.
The Chief Minister reiterated that Haryana would continue working to attract investments through improved infrastructure, streamlined approvals and investor-friendly policies.
Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Director General of Industries and Commerce Yash Garg and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director Vinay Pratap Singh were among the senior officials present during the visit.
