Fire breaks out at Ambala garment factory, clothing stock gutted

The fire spread rapidly, destroying nearly the entire clothing stock inside the facility

A fire broke out on Friday at a two-storey garment factory in New Model Colony of Ambala City, police said.

The fire spread rapidly, destroying nearly the entire clothing stock inside the facility. No injuries were reported.

To control the blaze, six fire tenders from Ambala City and two from Ambala Cantt responded to the scene and extinguished the flames after a strenuous effort.

According to the police, only a few security guards were present in the factory when the fire erupted. One guard noticed the smoke and promptly alerted the fire department. Police teams and firefighters arrived shortly thereafter.

Locals stated that the building was used for manufacturing shirts and other garments, and a large stock of clothing was stored there when the fire broke out, causing it to spread quickly across both floors.

Kuldeep Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Baldev Nagar police station, confirmed that the fire was eventually brought under control. The cause of the blaze remains unclear, and police are currently gathering more information.
