Around 34% of enumeration forms distributed during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi are yet to be digitised, with the enumeration phase set to end on August 17.
Data released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) showed that 9,698,217 of the 14,510,299 forms distributed across the city had been digitised as of 8 pm on August 15. This leaves 4,812,082 forms pending, or around 33.16% of the total.
Digitisation pace varies across Delhi
While enumeration forms have been distributed to all electors across Delhi's 13 districts, the progress in digitising them differs considerably between areas.
Southeast Delhi has recorded digitisation of 55.63% of its 1,557,000 forms, leaving more than 690,000 yet to be processed. New Delhi has digitised 60.64% of its forms, while South and Central Delhi have reached 60.80% and 61.78%, respectively.
North Delhi has recorded the highest digitisation rate at 75.64%. West Delhi follows with 73.06%, while Southwest Delhi has digitised 72.93% of its forms.
Officials face final two-day push
The current exercise is part of Phase III of the SIR, with the enumeration phase running from June 30 to August 17.
With more than 4.8 million forms still awaiting digitisation, officials have a substantial number of forms to process before the deadline.
The CEO's office has said the revision exercise is intended to ensure that eligible citizens are not left out of the electoral rolls while also preventing the inclusion of ineligible persons.
The figures released on August 15 indicate that while the forms have reached all electors, the digitisation process remains incomplete in several parts of the capital.
With the August 17 deadline approaching, the remaining forms will need to be digitised during the final two days of the enumeration phase.
