No eligible citizen will be excluded from the electoral rolls and no ineligible person will be added, the chief electoral officer (CEO), Delhi, said in a statement on Thursday night.
The assurance came amid concerns over alleged “irregularities” in the electoral rolls and the list of “Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD)” electors.
BLOs conduct door-to-door verification
According to the CEO’s office, booth-level officers (BLOs) identified voters under the ASDD category when they could not be found at their registered addresses or were reported to have moved elsewhere during door-to-door verification.
“BLOs completed house-to-house visits after giving due information to BLAs and conducted meetings with them periodically,” the statement said.
The CEO’s office also addressed concerns about the absence of addresses for electors marked for deletion from the rolls.
It said booth-level agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties were expected to record the addresses of ASDD electors based on information provided by BLOs during their meetings.
Draft rolls open for inspection
Copies of the draft electoral roll were provided to recognised political parties on August 31, according to the CEO’s office.
Citizens and representatives of political parties can inspect the draft rolls at the offices of electoral registration officers (EROs) and assistant EROs. The rolls are also available through BLOs and at designated polling stations.
The process allows voters and political representatives to check the entries and raise concerns during the claims and objections period.
Missed voters can still seek inclusion
Citizens who could not submit their details during the original window from June 30 to August 17 have another opportunity to seek inclusion in the electoral roll.
“Those missing from the draft roll may file Form 6 along with the prescribed Declaration Form for inclusion during the claims and objections period (31.08.2026 to 30.09.2026),” the CEO’s office said.
The CEO's assurance comes as the electoral authorities continue the process of reviewing and updating the rolls, with voters given the opportunity to check their entries and submit claims or objections within the specified period.
