Delhi Police clears Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert after initial denial

Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has received police clearance after organisers held meetings and submitted detailed security plans

Singer Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi concert has received permission to go ahead after multiple rounds of discussions between Delhi Police and the event organisers, the police said on Friday.

The clearance comes after the concert was earlier denied permission over security concerns. The organisers subsequently presented detailed plans to address the concerns raised by the police, following which the event was granted approval, news agency ANI reported.

Dosanjh's ‘Aura India Tour’ concert is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital on October 30.

Police had cited threat inputs, law and order concerns

The earlier denial of permission was communicated through a letter sent by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) to ticketing partner BookMyShow.

The police had cited specific threat-related inputs, along with security and law and order responsibilities during the ongoing festive season, as reasons for not approving the event at the time.

The letter stated that the request to organise the concert had been examined by the police but could not be accepted in view of the prevailing concerns.

“With reference to your application, I am to inform you that your request for organising Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour Delhi at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 30.10.2026 has been examined by this office. In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law and order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law and order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to.”

Organisers submit security plans

Following the initial setback, the organisers held multiple meetings with the police and submitted detailed plans addressing security-related issues.

The police granted permission after reviewing the arrangements, according to ANI.

The approval clears the way for Dosanjh's Delhi performance, which is part of his ‘Aura India Tour’. The concert had drawn attention after the initial refusal, with the police citing security inputs and other law and order commitments.

The latest decision follows discussions between the authorities and the organisers over the arrangements required to hold the event.
