Ousmane Dembele is set to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain after reaching an agreement with the French giants over a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2030, according to reports in France. The 29-year-old France international is currently contracted to PSG until June 2028, but the two sides have been in discussions over his future for several months. French sports daily L’Equipe reported on Monday that an agreement has now been reached, with the formal signing expected in the coming weeks.
Saudi interest turned down
Dembele had attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, where lucrative offers have continued to draw some of Europe’s biggest names. However, the forward has opted to remain in Paris and continue competing at the highest level in European football.
The agreement is also understood to fit within PSG’s revised wage policy, with the club seeking to retain its leading players without returning to the inflated salary structure that characterised an earlier phase of its project.
Dembele has previously indicated his desire to build a lasting legacy at PSG before considering a move outside European football.
Key figure in PSG project
The Frenchman joined PSG from Barcelona in 2023 in a deal worth around €50 million and has since developed into one of the central figures in Luis Enrique’s side.
His influence grew significantly as PSG established themselves at the summit of European football, while his performances also earned him the Ballon d’Or in 2025.
Dembele’s expected extension represents a major statement of continuity from PSG as the club looks to retain the core of the squad that has delivered sustained domestic and European success.
The forward’s future had drawn additional attention in recent days after he was given time away from the first-team squad. However, reports in France indicated that the decision was related to managing his workload rather than any breakdown in his relationship with the club.
With an agreement now reportedly in place, Dembele is expected to put pen to paper on the new contract in the coming weeks, potentially keeping him at the Parc des Princes until he is 33.
