Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday on Thursday marks the beginning of a month-long BJP campaign that will also highlight his 25 years in public life. The nationwide programme, centred on “seva” or service, will run from September 17 to October 17 and involve party workers, government departments, schools, Anganwadi centres, NGOs, influencers and elected representatives.
The campaign brings together a series of programmes rather than a single birthday event, with activities ranging from blood donation and plantation drives to school competitions, street plays and public outreach.
‘Seva Mera Yogdan’ and ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’
Under “Seva Mera Yogdan”, citizens are being encouraged to participate in one of 25 service activities, including blood donation and tree plantation. The BJP is also observing Modi's birthday as a day of service, with blood donation camps planned across the country.
Another programme, “Ashirwad Ka Diya”, will see beneficiaries of government schemes and party workers light earthen lamps at their homes. The initiative is part of the birthday-day outreach planned across the country.
Schools, street plays and Anganwadi events
Schools will be part of the campaign through drawing and speech competitions under “25 crore Bachchon ke Sapnon ka Bharat”. The programme is scheduled to run during the campaign period, with states allowed to decide the specific window.
The BJP has also planned “Namo Seva Gatha”, under which street plays will be staged in villages, schools and colleges to present stories linked to welfare schemes and Modi's public life. Anganwadi centres will host “Aangan Ka Utsav”, focusing on workers, mothers, nutrition and maternity-related schemes.
2.5 million stories and influencer outreach
Another major component is “Kahani Badlav Ki”, under which party workers will collect stories from around 2.5 million citizens whom the BJP says have benefited from government schemes.
Digital creators will also be part of the campaign. Under the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra”, around 300 to 500 influencers and content creators are expected to visit locations highlighted by the party for changes in areas such as infrastructure, technology and development.
October 17 finale
The month-long programme will conclude with the “Jansevak Mahakumbh” on October 17. Around 1,25,000 sarpanches and other public representatives are expected to participate across multiple locations, with a mass rendition of Vande Mataram and an address by Modi planned as part of the programme.
The campaign also includes programmes listed in the supplied material under technology-driven governance, welfare, innovation and infrastructure, including Digital India, Aadhaar, UPI, Jan Dhan Yojana, direct benefit transfers, Ujjwala Yojana, the National Quantum Mission and legislative reforms. These themes are presented as part of the broader effort to highlight the government's work during PM Modi's years in public life.
