The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced its new national team under party president Nitin Nabin, bringing several experienced leaders into key organisational positions ahead of assembly elections in multiple states.
The revamp gives prominence to regional representation, with leaders from different states being assigned important responsibilities in the party organisation.
Smriti Irani returns to key organisational role
One of the biggest names in the reshuffle is former Union minister Smriti Irani, who has been appointed one of the BJP's eight national general secretaries.
Irani, who previously held several prominent positions in the Union government, will now take up a key organisational responsibility within the party. Her appointment comes ahead of crucial electoral battles and signals her return to the BJP's central organisational structure.
The BJP announced the appointments through a post on X, saying, “The following members are being appointed by BJP National President Shri @NitinNabin to national positions of the BJP and other responsibilities”.

The appointments bring together leaders with experience in state governments, Parliament and the party organisation.
