'Keep up good fight for country': Kejriwal after release of CJP's Das, Ranka

AAP convenor congratulates Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after special executive magistrate orders their release from judicial custody

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday welcomed the release of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka from judicial custody, saying the entire nation stood with them.

The two leaders were released following an order by a special executive magistrate (SEM) after their judicial custody expired in connection with the October 14 protest at Jantar Mantar.

"Heartiest congratulations to Ashutosh and Saurav on receiving bail. Keep up the good fight for the country just like this. The entire nation stands with you," Kejriwal said in a post on X in Hindi.

Das and Ranka were produced before the special executive magistrate on Wednesday, during which their sureties were submitted. The magistrate subsequently ordered their release following the expiry of their custody period.

The CJP leaders had initially been remanded to five days of judicial custody on October 14 after being detained for allegedly entering the denotified protest site at Jantar Mantar and violating peace bonds.

Their release came after the completion of the judicial custody proceedings, with Kejriwal publicly extending his support to the two activists and encouraging them to continue their activities.
