BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Thursday held meetings with senior party functionaries and several Union ministers at the party headquarters in New Delhi, amid the opposition INDIA bloc's preparations for its November 1 rally against alleged electoral irregularities.
The meetings came as opposition parties intensified their campaign over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the functioning of the Election Commission, with a major demonstration scheduled at Ramlila Maidan.
Among those who attended the meeting were Union ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju and Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya, former Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP national general secretary Smriti Irani were also learnt to have participated.
Although the BJP did not officially disclose the discussions, party sources indicated that the opposition's campaign against the SIR exercise and the party's proposed response were among the issues considered.

According to sources, the meeting examined the INDIA bloc's continuing allegations concerning electoral roll revisions and the functioning of the Election Commission.
The opposition alliance has announced a rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
Congress and other INDIA bloc constituents have accused the Election Commission of compromising electoral fairness through the SIR exercise, allegations that have become a central issue in their campaign against the BJP-led Union government.
Sources said the BJP leadership discussed its response to the opposition's allegations, although no formal announcement was made regarding any specific strategy or programme.

Earlier in the day, Nabin chaired a separate meeting with the BJP's national general secretaries to review organisational issues and forthcoming party activities.
The discussions focused on the party's upcoming action plan and coordination among its organisational units.
Following the meeting, Nabin shared details of the interaction in a post on X.
"Today, at the BJP headquarters, I held a meeting with the national general secretaries and had a detailed discussion on the upcoming action plan and various matters related to the organisation," he said.
The meetings took place against the backdrop of heightened political activity ahead of the opposition's November 1 demonstration, with both sides preparing to present their positions on electoral roll revisions and the Election Commission's functioning.
