Indian Railways is set to expand the Amrit Bharat Express network with seven new train services connecting cities across northern, central, western and southern India. The Railway Board has approved the services, several of which will link major cities over long distances.
The trains are aimed at providing a more affordable long-distance travel option while offering better comfort than conventional express services. The new routes include connections between Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu and other regions.
Dhanbad-Coimbatore Amrit Bharat Express
The Dhanbad-Coimbatore Amrit Bharat Express (22363/22364) will operate weekly, with the service from Dhanbad scheduled for Saturdays and the return journey on Tuesdays.
Major stops include Gaya, Sasaram, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Renigunta, Katpadi, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur, among several others.
Charlapalli-Gorakhpur train
The Charlapalli-Gorakhpur Amrit Bharat Express (22075/22076) will connect Telangana with Uttar Pradesh. The route will cover Kazipet, Peddapalli, Nagpur, Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Gomti Nagar, Barabanki and Gonda.
The train will run from Charlapalli on Fridays, with the return service from Gorakhpur on Sundays.
More connections to Mumbai and Delhi
The Gorakhpur-Bandra Amrit Bharat Express (15085/15086) will provide a direct connection to Mumbai, with stops including Kanpur Central, Agra Fort, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Palghar and Borivali.
Another weekly service, the Gorakhpur-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express (15095/15096), will connect Gorakhpur with the national capital through stops such as Gonda, Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Ghaziabad.
Three more weekly services
The Subedarganj-Lokmanya Tilak Amrit Bharat Express (14121/14122) will connect Uttar Pradesh with Mumbai, stopping at Fatehpur, Banda, Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Nashik Road, Kalyan and Thane.
The Prayagraj-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express (20437/20438) will run through Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah, Agra, Kota, Ratlam and Vadodara.
The seventh service, Prayagraj-Lokmanya Tilak Amrit Bharat Express (20436/20435), will have fewer stops, including Satna, Jabalpur, Itarsi and Bhusaval before reaching Kalyan. The Prayagraj service will operate on Fridays, with the return journey on Saturdays.
