Ferrari has unveiled the CZ26, a new one-off supercar developed for a US client under the Italian marque’s Special Projects programme. Presented in Monterey, the Ferrari CZ26 was created through a collaboration between the client and the Ferrari Design Studio, led by Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni. The car is based on the SF90 Stradale and retains its technical specifications while introducing an entirely new exterior and interior design.
Ferrari said the CZ26 offers a contemporary interpretation of the high-performance berlinetta, with the design centred around a distinctly horizontal profile and a two-box silhouette. Its central body resembles a capsule supported by pronounced wheel arches, while the front features a full-width functional grille incorporating ultra-slim lighting units, brake air intakes, sensors and other technical components.
At the rear, the car gets a truncated tail, cantilevered taillights and a pronounced horizontal diffuser design. The bodywork adopts a clean aesthetic in which functional components, including the side air intakes and carbon-fibre elements, form part of the overall styling. Ferrari said the approach takes inspiration from significant examples of Italian industrial design from the 1970s.
The CZ26 is finished in an exclusive Argento Veloce silver shade, complemented by contrasting Rosso Lampante details and pigmented carbon-fibre elements. It also gets specially designed gloss-black wheels and natural-finish titanium exhaust tailpipes. Inside, Ferrari has used bespoke black technical fabric, additively manufactured seat inserts, carbon fibre and Rosso Lampante accents.
Aerodynamic changes include a redesigned cooling and airflow-management system, revised underbody and vortex generators. An air-curtain system at the front helps reduce drag, while a large upper rear spoiler and dedicated diffuser have been developed to increase downforce.
The CZ26 uses the SF90 Stradale’s plug-in hybrid powertrain. Its 3,990cc twin-turbo V8 produces 797 cv, while the electric motors have a maximum output of 162 kW. The 7.9 kWh battery provides a claimed electric range of 25 km. Power is transmitted through an eight-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox.
Ferrari claims a top speed of 328 kmph, with the CZ26 capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 2.5 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 6.7 seconds. Ferrari's Special Projects programme allows clients to commission unique one-off cars developed with the company's design team. According to Ferrari, such projects take around two years on average to complete, with the client closely involved throughout the design and verification stages.
