Jawa 42 All Stars launched at Rs 1.80 lakh with over 60 upgrades

Updated roadster gets wider rear tyre, redesigned exhaust and chassis revisions while retaining its 294.72cc engine

Jawa has launched the 42 All Stars in India, giving its modern-classic roadster a substantial makeover with more than 60 changes spanning styling, chassis, ergonomics and ride characteristics. Prices start at Rs 1.80 lakh and go up to Rs 1.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, with deliveries scheduled to begin on September 14. The motorcycle completes Jawa’s three-model All Stars line-up, alongside the 42 FJ and 42 Bobber.

The visual changes give the 42 a broader and more purposeful stance. The motorcycle gets redesigned side panels, a wider rear fender, fresh alloy wheels and a shorter, upswept twin-exhaust arrangement. Jawa has also fitted a wider 150/70-17 rear tyre, while the seat receives additional cushioning without abandoning the familiar flat bench-style design. Signature elements such as the round headlamp and 13.2-litre fuel tank have been retained.

Chassis receives revisions

Changes go beyond appearance, with Jawa revising the frame and swingarm stiffness as well as aspects of the motorcycle’s weight distribution, ergonomics, handling and comfort. The company says the changes are intended to improve agility and control while maintaining the accessible character of the 42. The redesigned exhaust is also claimed to improve the motorcycle’s ability to cope with water crossings.

Mechanically, the 42 All Stars continues with the 294.72cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor develops 27.19hp at 7,950rpm and peak torque of 26.3Nm at 6,000rpm. Braking duties are handled by a 280mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS. It uses 35mm telescopic front forks and gas-filled twin rear shock absorbers with adjustable preload.

Six colours on offer

The motorcycle continues to weigh 175kg and has a 1,369mm wheelbase and 173mm ground clearance. Jawa is offering the 42 All Stars in six colour schemes. The Black and Ivory version is priced at Rs 1.80 lakh, while the All Stars Black and Nebula Blue versions sit at the top of the range at Rs 1.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
