Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its new Xpulse 450 adventure motorcycle at EICMA 2026 in Milan, introducing a more powerful 421cc engine, adjustable suspension and integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as the company expands its premium motorcycle portfolio.
The motorcycle, also referred to as the Xpulse 421, represents a substantial upgrade over the Xpulse 210 and has been developed with inputs from the Hero MotoSports Team Rally programme.
Hero has confirmed that the motorcycle will be introduced in international markets before arriving in India. However, the company has not announced its price or an official launch timeline.

The Xpulse 450 is powered by an all-new 421cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC engine producing 46.7hp at 9,100rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and comes with a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
In comparison, the smaller Xpulse 210 produces 24.6hp at 9,250rpm and 20.7Nm at 7,250rpm.
The increased power and torque position the Xpulse 450 as a more capable option for highway touring while retaining the off-road focus associated with the Xpulse family.
The motorcycle has been under development since 2020, with Hero previously showcasing a rolling chassis prototype and concept sketches at earlier editions of EICMA.

One of the major mechanical upgrades is the motorcycle's long-travel suspension system.
The Xpulse 450 features a 43mm KYB upside-down cartridge-type front fork offering 225mm of suspension travel, which is 15mm more than the Xpulse 210.
The front suspension provides 22-step adjustability for compression and rebound damping, allowing riders to modify the setup according to terrain and riding conditions.
Hero has yet to disclose the complete specifications of the rear suspension.
The motorcycle also features tubeless wire-spoke wheels, designed to improve practicality during long-distance adventure rides and off-road excursions.
The wheel configuration comprises a 21-inch front and a 17-inch rear, reflecting its dual-purpose positioning.

A major highlight of the Xpulse 450 is its approximately 7-inch TFT instrument display, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Hero is positioning the feature as a segment-first offering, bringing smartphone integration commonly associated with cars to its adventure motorcycle.
The system is intended to provide riders with access to compatible navigation and smartphone functions through the motorcycle's display.
The larger screen and connectivity features are expected to improve convenience during long-distance touring, particularly for riders who rely on digital navigation.
However, Hero has not yet released the complete list of functions supported by the system.

Hero said the Xpulse 450 had been developed using technical inputs and experience gained through its international rally racing programme.
The company's Hero MotoSports Team Rally has participated in major off-road competitions, including the Dakar Rally, providing insights into motorcycle performance under demanding conditions.
These inputs have influenced the development of the Xpulse 450's chassis, suspension and overall adventure-oriented design.
The motorcycle is expected to join the company's existing dual-sport range, which includes the Xpulse 200, Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition and Xpulse 210 MX.

Once launched in India, the Xpulse 450 will compete with established adventure motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
The Himalayan 450 is currently priced from approximately Rs 3.08 lakh, while the KTM 390 Adventure S and R are priced at around Rs 4.06 lakh and Rs 3.87 lakh, respectively.
With its more powerful engine, adjustable suspension and smartphone connectivity, the Xpulse 450 marks Hero MotoCorp's entry into a more performance-oriented segment of the adventure motorcycle market.
The final production specifications, pricing and availability are expected to be announced closer to its commercial launch.
