Yami Gautam is set to return to the big screen with her upcoming film 'Nayyi Navelli', and the film’s latest poster has already caught attention. The motion poster, released by the makers on Wednesday, features Yami in a striking avatar.
Her husband and filmmaker Aditya Dhar also joined in on the excitement, sharing the poster on Instagram with a playful message for the actor.
‘So this is what I married into!’
In the motion poster, Yami is dressed in a red saree and gold jewellery. She is seen holding a demon by the neck, with a piece of cloth wrapped around it. A Ferris wheel forms part of the backdrop, while the poster carries the line, “Bhabhi Daayan hai.”
Aditya shared the poster and reacted to Yami’s unusual look by writing, “So this is what I married into! (evil emoji along with a heart emoji).”
Yami was quick to respond to her husband’s comment, writing, “Hahaha...writer saahab...aap filmon mein try kyun nahin karte Intezar kijiye 16 october ka (Hahaha... Writer sir, why don’t you try your hand at films? Wait until October 16).”
The exchange drew reactions from fans, with several calling Aditya’s response cute and praising the couple’s playful interaction.
From ‘Uri’ promotions to marriage
Yami and Aditya first became close while working together during the promotions of Uri: The Surgical Strike. Their friendship eventually turned into a relationship, which they largely kept away from the public eye.
The couple got married on June 4, 2021, in an intimate ceremony attended by family members. They welcomed their son, Vedavid, in May 2024.
What is 'Nayyi Navelli' about?
'Nayyi Navelli' is backed by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma and directed by Balaji Mohan, with Yami in the lead role.
The film’s synopsis describes a bride who enters a Meerut household and appears to turn it into an ideal home, before questions emerge about whether everything is really as perfect as it seems.
The makers have scheduled 'Nayyi Navelli' for a theatrical release on October 16.
