What is Sadie Sink's next big project after 'Stranger Things'? Actor in talks for 'The Guest'

Sadie Sink could lead the film adaptation of Emma Cline’s ‘The Guest’, with filmmaker Lorene Scafaria in talks to direct the project backed by A24 and Square Peg

"Stranger Things" alum Sadie Sink is in talks to star in and produce "The Guest", a film adaptation of Emma Cline's bestselling novel of the same name.

Production banners A24 and Square Peg are negotiating to adapt the 2024 novel with filmmaker Lorene Scafaria, known for "Hustlers" and the series "Succession", in talks to direct the project.

According to Variety, the novel follows a calculating grifter navigating the treacherous world of summer in the Hamptons.

Published by Penguin Random House in 2024, "The Guest" was longlisted for the PEN/Faulkner Award and selected for the Belletrist Book Club. It was also named one of the best books of the year by more than a dozen publications, including The New Yorker, Time, NPR and The Washington Post.

The project comes as Sink expands her career beyond "Stranger Things" and enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She recently played the powerful mutant Jean Grey in Marvel-Sony's superhero blockbuster "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", co-starring Tom Holland and Zendaya.

She is set to reprise the role in the upcoming "X-Men" reboot, directed by Jake Schreier and scheduled for release on May 5, 2028.

Sink's also credits include the Oscar-winning film "The Whale", the West End production of "Romeo and Juliet" and the Broadway play "John Proctor is the Villain", for which she received a Tony Award nomination.

Scafaria's film credits include writing and directing "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World", "The Meddler" and "Hustlers". She also wrote the adapted screenplay for "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist".
