Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal Park' shoot pushed to late 2027: Here's why

Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal Park' is likely to begin filming in late 2027, six months after Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' releases

Ranbir Kapoor fans may have to wait a little longer to see him return as Ranvijay Singh in 'Animal Park'. The much-awaited sequel to Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' is unlikely to begin production before the director completes his upcoming film 'Spirit'.

Pranay Reddy Vanga, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's brother, confirmed the timeline during a conversation with NTV Telugu. He said the filmmaker plans to take a six-month break after Spirit releases before starting work on 'Animal Park'.

'Animal Park 'likely to roll in late 2027

'Spirit', starring Prabhas, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 5, 2027. With Vanga planning a six-month break after the release, shooting for 'Animal Park' is expected to begin towards the end of 2027.

The sequel has been a subject of considerable interest since the first film ended. Ranbir had earlier revealed that Vanga already had ideas for 'Animal Park' while they were working on 'Animal'. He also said the story would pick up from where the first film concluded and that he would appear in dual roles.

Ranbir's packed 2027 schedule

By the time Animal Park goes into production, Ranbir is expected to have a crowded professional calendar. He will be associated with several major releases and projects during 2027.

Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana: Part 1', featuring Ranbir as Lord Rama, is scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release. The film also stars Yash, Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, Ravi Dubey and Sai Pallavi in important roles.

Ranbir is also set to appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period romance Love & War, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is expected to release in early 2027.

According to a Pinkvilla report, Ranbir is also expected to begin work on 'Brahmastra 2: Dev' after completing the shoot for 'Ramayana: Part 2'. The report said he could start filming in April 2027 after a short preparation period.

With several projects lined up before 'Animal Park', Ranbir's return to the 'Animal' universe could take some time, but the sequel remains one of his most anticipated upcoming films.
