Shah Rukh Khan chose a different way to celebrate his 61st birthday with fans this year. The superstar did not make his customary midnight appearance outside Mannat on Monday, but thousands of admirers who gathered outside his Mumbai residence still had a special surprise waiting for them. A handwritten birthday message from the actor was displayed on a giant projector outside the Bandra bungalow, thanking fans for their wishes and affection.
The birthday arrangement also gave fans a glimpse of Shah Rukh's upcoming film, 'King'. Large visuals from the action entertainer were projected outside Mannat, turning the midnight gathering into a celebration of both the actor's birthday and his next theatrical release.
Shah Rukh Khan's handwritten note for fans
While fans waited for a glimpse of the superstar, the projector carried a personal message written by Shah Rukh himself. The note read: “Thank you all for your wishes and love. Sending mine right back to you all.”
He signed off with ‘lots of love and a big hug', making the message a special part of this year's birthday celebrations.
The display also featured two dialogues from 'King' — "King Akela Kaafi Hai" and “Darr Nahi, Dehshat Hoon.” The film's visuals offered fans a preview of the actor's upcoming big-screen outing.
'King' to release in theatres on Christmas 2026
Directed by Siddharth Anand, 'King' is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 24. The film marks the reunion of Shah Rukh and the director after their 2023 blockbuster 'Pathaan'.
The upcoming action entertainer will also be Shah Rukh's first theatrical release in more than 3 years. His last film, Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki', was released in December 2023.
Another major highlight of 'King' is the first-time on-screen pairing of Shah Rukh with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The film also features an ensemble cast comprising Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Jaideep Ahalawat and Raghav Juyal in key roles.
