Korean filmmaker Na Hong-jin's sci-fi thriller 'Hope', his first film in nearly a decade, is set to arrive in Indian theatres on September 25. The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, brings together a mix of leading Korean and Hollywood actors.
'Hope' to release in five languages
The film will be released across India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Korean, making it accessible to audiences in multiple languages.
'Hope' stars Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung and Hoyeon, along with Hollywood actors Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender.
The story is set in a village where a police chief and his rookie deputy are forced to protect the community after wildfires cut off communication. The situation takes a darker turn when a local hunting party encounters a mysterious creature in the mountains and finds itself being hunted.
Na Hong-jin returns after a decade
'Hope' marks Na Hong-jin's return to filmmaking after a gap of 10 years. The director previously made 'The Chaser', 'The Yellow Sea' and 'The Wailing', all of which were invited to Cannes.
With 'Hope', Na has once again taken a genre-driven approach, beginning with the fear surrounding an unknown creature before expanding the story into survival and human behaviour under pressure.
"We wanted the world of the film to feel both immediate and unpredictable, while also giving the audience the scale and spectacle of a large cinematic experience. I'm excited for audiences in India to experience this world on the big screen," he added.
'Hope' gets India theatrical release
The film is presented by Plus M Entertainment and produced by Forged Films in co-production with Plus M Entertainment and Westworld. Star Entertainment Pvt Ltd will handle its release in India.
