Kareena Kapoor’s visit to Bhansali’s office sparks buzz over long-awaited collaboration

Actor’s meeting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali revives speculation of a reunion more than two decades after their much-discussed ‘Devdas’ fallout

Kareena Kapoor Khan has set off fresh speculation about a possible collaboration with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali after she was spotted visiting his office in Mumbai. The actor’s appearance immediately caught attention given their complicated professional history and the fact that the two have never worked together on a completed film.

Kareena was photographed arriving at Bhansali’s office on Wednesday, prompting fans to wonder whether a new project was being discussed. Neither Kareena nor Bhansali has announced a collaboration, and the purpose of the meeting remains undisclosed.

A collaboration that never happened

The possibility of Kareena working with Bhansali has intrigued Bollywood audiences for more than two decades. Kareena had once been associated with the role of Paro in Devdas, which eventually went to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The episode subsequently became the subject of considerable public discussion, with Kareena and Bhansali offering differing accounts of why the collaboration did not materialise.

Years later, Kareena was also linked to Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. She was initially expected to play the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh, but the role ultimately went to Deepika Padukone. The 2013 film became a major success and marked the beginning of a highly successful creative partnership between Bhansali, Deepika and Ranveer.

Meeting fuels reunion speculation

Against that history, Kareena’s latest visit has generated considerable curiosity over whether the actor and filmmaker may finally be preparing to work together. Social media users reacted enthusiastically to photographs and videos of the visit, with many calling for the two to collaborate on a large-scale film.

For now, however, there is no confirmation that the meeting was related to a movie. Bhansali is known for keeping details of his projects closely guarded during their early stages, while actors and filmmakers routinely hold private meetings before any formal casting announcement.

Fans await official word

Kareena remains one of Hindi cinema’s most prominent actors more than two decades after her debut, while Bhansali continues to be associated with some of the industry’s biggest period dramas and visually ambitious productions. A collaboration between the two would therefore bring together two major Bollywood names whose professional paths have repeatedly come close to crossing.

Whether Wednesday’s meeting leads to a film remains to be seen, but it has revived one of Bollywood’s longest-running casting possibilities — Kareena Kapoor Khan in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali production.
