Jennifer Lawrence has made her first Instagram post, and the actor wasted no time laying down some ground rules for her new social media presence.
Although Lawrence now has an official Instagram account, her first video post came with a playful warning for anyone planning to leave negative or unkind comments. In the clip, she said:
“So, yeah, I'm giving it a shot. And if anyone says anything negative, I will quit. Immediately. No questions asked.”
She followed it up with another message making it clear that she would be keeping an eye on the response.
“If someone says something mean, I'll know, and I'll quit.”
Lawrence gains millions of followers in a day
Lawrence's account has already attracted 3.8 million followers, despite having been active for only a day.
Her profile picture also appears to be in keeping with the casual tone of her debut. Rather than a polished red-carpet photograph, Lawrence chose an image of herself with foils in her hair, holding a drink and looking towards the camera.
She is currently following 46 accounts, including the Kardashians, Leonardo DiCaprio, the Jenners, Martin Scorsese and Dakota Johnson.
Lawrence also shared an Instagram story that continued the joke about protecting her from negative reactions.
“Please be mindful that any mean or aggressive comments can negatively affect the baby. It's me. I'm the baby.”
Jennifer Lawrence's family
Lawrence married art gallery director Cooke Maroney in October 2019. The couple have two children, four-year-old Cy and one-year-old Louie.
Her Instagram debut comes as the actor continues to draw attention both on and off the screen.
Lawrence and Priyanka Chopra's Paris moment
Lawrence was recently spotted alongside Priyanka Chopra at the 13th LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in Paris.
The two were seen chatting, laughing and exchanging remarks during the event, with videos of their interaction circulating online. In one clip, the pair appeared to whisper to each other before breaking into laughter.
Chopra attended the event in a black-and-white flowy dress, while Lawrence opted for a black pantsuit. Their candid interaction became one of the moments that drew attention from the event.
